The Shady POTUS

''I am sick of President Obama and what he and Reid (shady) and Pelosi (double shady) have done to this country. He may be able to prove he was born here, but he will never convince me that he is one of us. Barack Obama is not an American; he is a citizen of the world.'' I know what you are thinking. Coach Dave is finally coming out of the closet as a "Birther." He has joined that '"fringe element" in America that doesn't think that Barack Obama is an United States citizen. Well, to be perfectly honest, I have been part of that group for quite awhile. I question where the president was born. What is wrong with that? “Trust but verify” a wise man once proclaimed. I think Obama would be wise to come clean on a lot of things. He is a "shady" character. That is what my mother would have called him 30 years ago when folks were permitted to make judgment calls about people without being called names. Today there are groups of people that you are not able to criticize, at least not unless you are willing to face an onslaught of accusations designed to destroy your character. Most folks don't want to have to go through it, so they just learn to keep their opinions to themselves. As a result, this call for "civility" has created a culture where the "shady" ones are able to get away with treason. Bill Clinton is shady. So are Hillary, Newt, James Carville, Paul Begala, and Rudy. Every time I hear them talk I wonder if they have their fingers crossed behind their back. (I am sure you could add a few names to the list.) You know what I am talking about. You know "shady" when you see it. Barack Obama, and his wife, are shady. In fact, there is a dark cloud hanging all over this regime. Donald Trump (shady) has finally legitimized Birthers. I guess the pile of money he has accumulated makes him a little harder to write off as crazy. Watching Whoopie (shady) argue with him on “The View” the other day was laughable. She looked like a fool and didn't even realize it. Her attempt to play the race card race couldn't trump Trumps credibility. He makes millions, Whoopie makes movies. How does one know when she is serious and when she is playing a role? That's what makes so many lefties shady. They play roles. It’s called political correctness. http://www.newswithviews.com/Daubenmire/dave231.htm

Time: The Gray Lady's Death

''Abe Rosenthal, the long-serving former executive editor of the New York Times, used to have a recurring nightmare: that he would wake up someday to find that the Times had ceased to exist. It is a commentary on the paper’s much-diminished prestige that many now dream of such a day.'' William McGowan doesn’t. While critical of what he considers the paper’s decline, he writes as an admirer of the Times and its place in American history. In his view, the Times once stood as a model of fair-minded, responsible journalism and an important civic and political institution in its own right. The problem, as he points out in his book, Gray Lady Down, is that the Times has remained a hugely influential organization even as it has abandoned its once lofty journalistic standards. It was not always thus. Recalling the paper’s glory days, McGowan pays tribute to the late Rosenthal’s editorship. Though a political liberal, Rosenthal didn’t want the paper to become a sounding board for left-wing politics. He checked the paper’s drift to the left, particularly in its Washington bureau, by insisting that reporters conduct objective reporting and avoid potential conflicts of interest. Rosenthal memorably summed up his editorial policy: “I don’t care if my reporters are fucking elephants, as long as they aren’t covering the circus.” It’s a testament to Rosenthal’s dispassionate approach to news reporting that in 1972, William F. Buckley’s National Review—hardly a reflexive ally of the Times’s progressive politics—called for other media to emulate the paper’s standards. If it’s hard to imagine a similar endorsement today, it’s because the Times, in McGowan’s view, has become a very different, and much less worthy, enterprise. McGowan attributes the paper’s decline to two main causes. The first is its embrace of so-called lifestyle journalism in the 1970s. Designed to give the staid “Gray Lady” a trendy makeover and lure a younger demographic, the focus on soft news failed to increase readership. It did, however, open the door for the left-wing politics that Rosenthal had resisted and which would gradually shape the paper’s cultural coverage. A case in point is the Times Book Review, a once-diverse forum for intellectual debate that now often shuns conservative titles, even when they top the paper’s own extended bestseller list. http://city-journal.org/2011/bc0325jl.html

Japan? No worries

Obama and the neocons' war

''Neocons could not be giddier. Weekly Standard editor William Kristol is ebullient: "Despite his doubts and dithering, President Obama is taking us to war in another Muslim country. Good for him." Perhaps. But will bloodying another Muslim country be good for America? In ordering air and naval strikes on a country that neither threatened nor attacked the United States, did President Obama commit an impeachable act? So it would seem. For the framers of the Constitution were precise. The power to declare war is entrusted solely to Congress. From King William's War to Queen Anne's War to King George's War to the Seven Years' War, the colonists had had their fill of royal wars. To no principle were they more committed than that the power to declare war must be separate from the power to wage it. And Obama usurped that power. His defenders argue that under the War Powers Act he can wage war for 60 days before going to Congress. But that applies only if the president is responding to an attack or has determined that the nation is under imminent threat. Had JFK ordered air strikes on the Cuban missile sites, he would have been responding to an imminent and potentially mortal threat. When Ronald Reagan ordered the liberation of Grenada after Marxist thugs murdered the president and 500 American medical students there seemed in danger of being taken hostage, he acted within the War Powers Act. Some 100,000 AK-47 automatic rifles were found stockpiled on the island. Reagan again acted within the spirit and letter of the act when he used the New Jersey and carrier-based air to retaliate against the terrorist camps of those who engineered the massacre of the 241 Marines in Beirut and when he retaliated against Libya and Moammar Gadhafi for the attack on U.S. soldiers at the Berlin discotheque. But before George H.W. Bush went to war to liberate Kuwait and George W. Bush took us to war against Iraq, each went to Congress and got roll-call votes authorizing those wars. Obama worked the phones to get the approval of 10 of 15 members of the Security Council, but not Russia, China, Germany, India or Brazil. He then sought the benediction of the Arab League, which reveals much about where Obama thinks real moral authority in this world resides. Obama Eligibility 101

''There is simply no evidence that Obama is constitutionally eligible for office – at least not on the table, not for public view. The very first piece of evidence we would inspect to make such a determination is the one document Obama refuses to release – the long-form birth certificate.'' Donald Trump, a potential presidential candidate in 2012, has boldly asked the question the political and media elite refuse to ask: "Where's the birth certificate?" As a result, more people are discovering the controversy over Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility every day. Therefore, it's a good time for a refresher course or primer on what this issue is all about. First of all, it is an irrefutable fact, despite what you might hear and read from other sources, that Obama has never released his birth certificate to the press or the American people. In fact, he has steadfastly refused to do so. The only document Obama has offered to suggest he is a natural-born citizen actually contradicts that suggestion. But, even worse, that document, the certification of live birth, the short-form certificate, is insufficient for purposes far less significant than establishing the constitutional eligibility for the presidency. For instance, try getting a passport with one. Try qualifying for Little League with one. Try getting a driver's license with one in most states. This is a digital document, subject to fraud, easy to obtain in Hawaii without a birth actually taking place, and the state of Hawaii has never even asserted that the document the Obama campaign released was an official Hawaiian document. There is one other piece of so-called "evidence" cited by Obama acolytes: much-to-do-about-nothing newspaper birth announcements. Since those birth announcements would be triggered automatically by the Hawaii health department with the acceptance of an application for a certification of live birth, they are totally irrelevant insofar as corroborating evidence. They only indicate that someone in Hawaii applied for a certification of live birth, a document Hawaii handed out to people with no evidence of an actual birth having taken place. For the life of me, I have no idea why this is so hard for some people to understand – people like Bill O'Reilly. It's not about Obama's parents or grandparents trying to position him as a presidential candidate in the future, as some scoff. There are lots of reasons parents and grandparents try to establish American citizenship and birthrights for their children beside setting them up for the presidency. I'm shocked that we have so many gullible people in the media. It's appalling, and all those who have aided Obama in his cover-up will regret it someday. The burden of Damascus

God save the 'Infidel'

''...Most alarmingly, our president, raised by Muslim fathers and taught Islamic tenets in his early and impressionable years in Indonesia, seems to think America can work with the Muslim Brotherhood, with Director of Intelligence James Clapper claiming the organization is "largely secular."'' The foundations of our nation are being shaken to the core. A government that was intended, as Lincoln proclaimed, to be "of the people, by the people and for the people" has degenerated into a largely unresponsive, irresponsible self-serving and self-perpetuating machine, led by a clique of far-left socialistic "progressives" who intend to control virtually everything, and who will dictate to the people what they can and cannot do. And while our very constitutional foundations are being shaken and sometimes just willfully ignored, we are being assaulted and infiltrated by a religious ideology that seeks world domination, and is, by its scriptures and directives attributed to its prophetic forebears, commissioned to convert, subjugate – or kill – every last person on earth. This ideology already has over a billion adherents, and it is growing in our bowels daily. I assume that multiplied thousands of Muslims are good, decent and compassionate people; but they likely may be like so many Christians and Jews who really don't know all that their scriptures command. And when, and if, they read verses like Surah 9:5 (the famous "verse of the Sword"), they dismiss or disregard them as "not for today." But the Muslim Brotherhood is composed of dedicated, zealous people who do regard and revere those verses that describe Christians and Jews as "pigs" and worse. David Horowitz, in his most recent Freedom Center newsletter, frontpagemag.com, reports: "Shortly after 9/11, the FBI uncovered a Muslim Brotherhood plot to set up front groups in the U.S., like the Muslim Student Association,to give the appearance of being a part of America's social fabric. The FBI learned that wasn't the Brotherhood's intention at all. Instead, Brotherhood documents revealed that the group wants to destroy America from top to bottom. "For more than 80 years, the Muslim Brotherhood has been the fountainhead of radical Islamic groups, and was created to advance Islam across the globe. The Brotherhood has helped finance at least a dozen radical Islamic terror groups, including Hamas and al-Qaida." David has done extensive, documented research through the Freedom Center linking the Muslim Brotherhood to the Muslim Student Association, and it's all for you to read in a 40-page report by the Investigative Project on Terrorism. As he says, "The Brotherhood knows it's easier to poison younger minds with their agenda of hate and destruction. So they've funded Muslim Student Associations throughout the United States and Canada. Today there are more than 600 chapters of the MSA providing fertile ground for recruiting terror on our own soil! Large and Small

''A more perfect union” (not the “global village”)

''John Adams once pointed out that the U.S. Constitution is “made only for a moral and religious people.” Accordingly, devout lovers of God, truth, freedom, family, and righteousness must plant themselves as watchmen on city walls, as it were, in order to spot, identify, then sound the alarm at the presence of encroaching danger. They must insist that representatives in Congress “make strong” the “miracle” of our republic—this, by strict interpretation of the U.S. Constitution.'' Most agree that life is fraught with danger. Not all threats are physical, but most are birthed out of ideologies. Hitler’s Germany provides a prime example. At the Führer’s bidding, Heinrich Himmler executed Hitler’s Final Solution. By some counts, persecution and genocide, carried out in stages, resulted in up to seventeen million victims.[1]
Expanding their concept of the Aryan race, today’s Neo-Nazis promise a wannabe utopia every bit as autocratic as Hitler’s Germany; and globalists advance their own version of dictatorial democratic trans-federalism.
What was needed throughout the season of Hitler’s reign of terror is precisely what’s required today—namely, the WOW factor. By this I mean “watchmen on the wall.” In the mid-1930s Albert Einstein was one such watchman. His fear was that Nazi scientists might develop the world’s first atomic bombs. Hence, in 1939, Einstein urged President Roosevelt to launch an American program of nuclear research.
As a watchman on the wall, Einstein sounded the alarm with history-altering results. All the more today watchmen are needed to expose ideological threats not unlike those that were egregiously acted upon in the 1930s and 1940s. http://www.newswithviews.com/Rae/debra189.htm

A higher IQ than Einstein

''According to his parents Jake has trouble sleeping at night as he constantly sees numbers in his head.
But far from complaining, Jake has turned the sleepless nights to his advantage - debunking the big bang theory.
The next step, according to professor Ross, is for Jake to leave class altogether and take up a paid research role.''
A 12-year-old child prodigy has astounded university professors after grappling with some of the most advanced concepts in mathematics.
Jacob Barnett has an IQ of 170 - higher than Albert Einstein - and is now so far advanced in his Indiana university studies that professors are lining him up for a PHD research role.
The boy wonder, who taught himself calculus, algebra, geometry and trigonometry in a week, is now tutoring fellow college classmates after hours. And now Jake has embarked on his most ambitious project yet - his own 'expanded version of Einstein's theory of relativity'.
His mother, not sure if her child was talking nonsense or genius, sent a video of his theory to the renowned Institute for Advanced Study near Princeton University. According to the Indiana Star, Institute astrophysics professor Scott Tremaine -himself a world renowned expert - confirmed the authenticity of Jake's theory.
In an email to the family, Tremaine wrote: 'I'm impressed by his interest in physics and the amount that he has learned so far.
'The theory that he's working on involves several of the toughest problems in astrophysics and theoretical physics. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1369595/Jacob-Barnett-12-higher-IQ-Einstein-develops-theory-relativity.html

Iran Announces unmanned UFO

This photo accompanies an actual news release from Iranian news service Fars, which claims the Islamic Republic has built a flying saucer.
Of
course, it's possible Iran's news agents chose to illustrate their announcement with a screen shot from a 1950s B movie. But the Fars News Service does not explain the photo's origin, simply stating that the flying saucer was unveiled in a special ceremony. The ship is called Zohal -- Saturn in Persian -- and is designed for aerial imaging. Zohal has a data downlink and can fly in both indoor and outdoor spaces, according to the Fars News Service. The Daily Mail points out that Fars is a hard-line state-run news service. But with this photo, we can't help but think of the homophone farce instead. http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/03/23/iran-announces-launch-unmanned-flying-saucer/?test=faces#

Japan: Earthquakes, Tsunamis, and Suicide

With the Japanese nuclear crisis (which I write about in this week’s issue of the magazine) tentatively under control, Japan is racing to get mental-health workers in to see displaced and traumatized survivors. The prospect for post-traumatic problems is, of course, profound: the Times tells us today of a twelve-year-old boy who was swept by himself into the ocean for an hour before being recovered, naked and banged up; he remained in shock and unable to talk for days. Or, for that matter, the boy’s school principal, who said, “I want the surviving kids to shine—to continue their lives.” (The principal’s sister and brother have been missing since the tsunami, and her house is destroyed.)
Or consider the psychological effects on two thousand and five hundred “radiation refugees,” holed up in the Saitama Super Arena north of Tokyo, usually home to concerts and sports events. Among them is a sixty-three-year-old woman who survived the quake, survived the tsunami, only to look out her window and see the No. 1 nuclear reactor exploding and thought, “This is it.”
It is a grim but unavoidable question: Must Japan brace for a silent wave of suicides in the years ahead? Living in China, which is still reckoning with the mental-health effects of its own twentieth-century traumas, I wanted to know the likelihood for trouble ahead. But a look at the data on natural disasters and suicides provides surprising comfort. Because Japan already has one of the highest suicide rates in developed world—over thirty thousand per year for thirteen years in a row—the subject is a national issue, and researchers track the fluctuations with extraordinary precision: an increase last year in the number of child caretakers who killed themselves; a jump in the suicide rate of the unemployed. Socialism (is) for Dummies

''The mass media spent an inordinate amount of time trying to force George W. Bush to fess up to his mistakes. But I notice that nobody ever asks that of Barack Obama. At long last, the reason dawned on me. If he ever got started, we'd have nobody to blame but ourselves – and who has the time?'' Proof that you don't have to live in New York or Hollywood to be a left-wing knothead was the decision by a Chicago high school to boycott a basketball tournament in Arizona because someone – the principal perhaps – opposed Arizona's immigration policy. A policy, as we all know, that is the mirror image of federal law. Then, having shown the world what they think of those racists in Arizona, they went off to play an exhibition game in a country that serves as a role model for freedom-loving people everywhere … China!
Leftists like to think of themselves as clear-thinking realists who are sensitive to nuance and irony. In reality, they are like little children who regard fairy tales as non-fiction. For instance, they champion socialism even though the past hundred years have proven time and again that it doesn't work in practice the way it does in theory. On the contrary, in every country where it has existed, it has inevitably led to loss of liberty, widespread poverty and mass murder on a scale that has no parallel in human history. Point out this obvious fact to a liberal, and once he gets done calling you a greedy, heartless, bloodthirsty reactionary, he'll insist that we haven't yet seen true socialism. Actually, we have, though. We've seen it in the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany, in China, Cambodia, North Korea and Cuba.
The reason capitalism works and socialism doesn't is because, unlike the former, the latter doesn't factor in human nature. Most people want to compete – whether it's for status, glory or riches – and they want for themselves and their children the opportunity to excel to the best of their ability.
What conservatives object to isn't a level playing field, but a game in which they're expected to take a dive, lest the lazy, the inept and the selfish wind up feeling like losers.
Conservatives don't even object to the redistribution of wealth. But they want to be in control of how much they distribute and to whom, and not leave those decisions in the hands of Washington weasels. It's what conservatives, the most generous people in America, refer to as charity. As they see it, their hard-earned money should go to the elderly and the infirm, not to the young and able-bodied who regard themselves as entitled simply because of their race or country of origin. Just because some people wallow in self-pity, portraying themselves as victims of an oppressive society, doesn't make it so. As I see it, they and their outlandish demands should be ignored or, better yet, ridiculed. Glenn Beck: 'The perfect (world) storm' is here

"It is an overwhelming force and it is global in nature and it is evil in nature. You must be as good and as light as the evil is evil, bad and dark. These are not enemies of man. These are enemies of God, and He will sort things out. You must stand in righteousness." Media giant Glenn Beck is warning that a "perfect storm" of problems in America and the world has begun, and he's urging people to turn to God to deal with it.
"These problems, as you are beginning to see," Beck said on his radio program this morning, "we are experiencing now the perfect storm, the beginnings of the perfect storm that I outlined to you years ago and now you can see how when I was talking about it and everybody was saying 'Shut up! Who cares? It's not going to happen.'
"You're beginning to see it now and you can know why I was crying all the time. Because I saw this in advance. It doesn't take a genius to do it. You can see it if you would just open your mind."
"If you don't say something now, it's only going to get harder and harder and harder," he said. "You think it's gonna get easier to talk to your friends about God? You think it's gonna be easier to talk to your spouse about, 'Hey, let's clean up our lives'? You think it's gonna get easier to talk to your kids and tell them, 'Hey, knock it off' or 'You don't need all of that stuff?' It's not going to get easier. It's going to get harder because the world is going down in the other direction. You gotta stop now. You've got to turn your life around now."
Beck played audio at times from Nation of Islam founder Louis Farrakhan, and made reference to an end-times Muslim leader known as "the Mahdi."
"This [the uprising in the Middle East] is a sign that the great Mahdi that the Muslim world has been looking for is present in the world," Farrakhan noted.
Beck remarked, ""If you look at the Mahdi / the 12th Imam, he really is the biblical antichrist." Read more: Glenn Beck warns: 'The perfect storm' is beginning http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=277717#ixzz1HK2yAnHJ

Green-washing the kids

"The world is running out of oil, consumerism is polluting our world with garbage and the western lifestyle is unsustainable. "What is your career going to do about it?"
If this challenge isn't an environmentalist's dream of influencing the minds of young people, I don't know what is.
Unfortunately, it isn't a one-time-only challenge – it's in almost every state and is spreading in colleges and universities of every size across the country. The challenge was thrust at an audience of junior college students by three of their peers, who had organized a Green Energy Forum at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, Calif. – across the bay from San Francisco.
That location alone should give you a hint of the mental state of the people involved in the event. They're green to the bone; I know the types.
The campus hosted a day-long Focus the Nation Clean Energy Forum, one of a variety events. It was part of a three-week national effort by a group calling itself Focus the Nation and involved 22 events in 18 states at 19 colleges and universities of all sizes and affiliations among them Penn State, Drexel University, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, University of Hawaii Manoa, Loyola Marymount Los Angeles, University of Utah, Northern Maine Community College and, as I mentioned, Diablo Valley College.
The objective of the national, nonprofit group, headquartered in Portland, Ore., is to "empower a generation to power a nation."
They aim at 18-28 year olds, training them in different green energy areas to be "agents of change" to spread the message that "building a clean energy economy presents an opportunity to redefine American prosperity and U.S. leadership at the local and international level."
Judging by their description of their projects, they're a training ground for community organizers and national activists aimed at stirring up green enthusiasm among all ages and economic levels, from rural, poor populations, urban to suburban to elected officials.
It's too bad they only present one side of issues. Generally that's considered brainwashing. If these kids are so smart, why can't they see that?
The Contra Costa Sun, a local weekly newspaper, reported on one of the panels held that day, most likely because it drew two local politicians: Gayle McLaughlin, mayor of Richmond, Calif., – an East Bay city troubled by fiscal and typical urban problems – and California state Sen. Mark DeSaulnier.
Three DVC students organized the forum and made a major effort to get the politicians. Fabiola Ramirez, Keith Montes and Carla Bernal went to DeSaulnier's office to encourage his participation. He told the newspaper it was their enthusiasm that convinced him to be there. Read more: Green-washing the kids http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=277521#ixzz1HEBdMhZQ

What goes around...

The politics of Karma

Rick 'Reiki' Warren and More Hell's Bells

"Pastor Rick Warren [is hosting] three health experts – including the star of the 'Dr. Oz Show' – at Saddleback Church... 'The Bible says that God wants us to be as healthy physically as you are spiritually,' Warren said... 'This is God's prescription for your health."[1] Rick Warren, Dr. Oz to partner on health plan.
"
Reiki has become a sought-after healing art.... Pamela Miles has been instrumental in the integration of Reiki into conventional medicine and has written an intelligent, sensitive guidebook to this remarkable healing practice."[2] –Mehmet Oz, M.D.
"As the Reiki Practitioner places her hands lightly on your head, you feel yourself drawn into a sweet state of relaxation....You notice that sometimes her hands feel warm, even hot, and deeply soothing. Each hand placement brings a sense of ease...."
[3] Pamela Miles, REIKI: A Comprehensive Guide
Is Rick Warren telling the truth? Does the Bible really say that "God wants us to be as healthy physically as you are spiritually"?
No, it does not! Though Jesus often healed the sick and continues to do so today, our spiritual and eternal life with Him is far more important than our physical and temporary life on earth. Countless
faithful martyrs have faced torture and death because they refused to compromise their faith! Of course, we should take care of our bodies and help each other, but our highest priority is to trust God and follow His narrow way no matter what the cost. And that's not bad news:
"Even though our outward man [the body] is perishing, yet the inward man [our soul/spirit] is being renewed day by day....For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Holistic practices such as Reiki clash with God's guidelines. But they sound good to those who don't know Him. After all, "empowered" Reiki masters offer what people have always wanted: relief from stress, pain, and disease. Praised by Dr. Oz and Oprah Winfrey, Reiki's popularity has soared.
This belief system may work wonders for some. But what is the true source behind its unseen force? Is it similar to the "intelligent" power behind
Ouija Boards, Tarot Cards, shamanism, and Theosophy? [4] http://www.newswithviews.com/BeritKjos/kjos117.htm

Obama Accepting Radical Muslim Brotherhood

''Asked if President Barack Obama was doing enough to protect Christians at home and abroad, Graham says, “No. If anything it’s the opposite.”“Muslims are protected more in this country than Christians,” he says. “The president has made many statements but he doesn’t back them up. We have to do more to protect the Christians in the Muslim world. Their lives are in danger.” The Muslim Brotherhood, with the complicity of the Obama administration, has infiltrated the U.S. government at the highest levels and is influencing American policy that leaves the world’s Christians in grave danger, warns internationally known evangelist Franklin Graham“The Muslim Brotherhood is very strong and active here in our country,” Graham tells Newsmax. “We have these people advising our military and State Department. We’ve brought in Muslims to tell us how to make policy toward Muslim countries.“It’s like a farmer asking a fox, ‘How do I protect my hen house?’"That same Muslim Brotherhood is fomenting much of the rebellion and the deteriorating social order roiling the Middle East, forcing millions of Christians to flee for their lives, says Graham, son of beloved evangelist Dr. Billy Graham, and founder of The Samaritan’s Purse international charity.“Under [Egypt’s Hosni] Mubarek and [Jordan’s] King Hussein and other moderate leaders, Christians had been protected,” Graham says. 11 million Christians live in Egypt and I ear for them, because if the Muslim Brotherhood comes to power, you’re going to see a great exodus of Christians. Same thing in Tunisia and Lebanon. I fear for the church because the Muslim Brotherhood is going to be a very terrible thing.”Read more on Newsmax.com: Franklin Graham: World’s Christians in Grave Danger Important: Do You Support Pres. Meltdowns – Japan and U.S.

''Let's see: If we lie to the Congress, it's a felony; and if the Congress lies to us, it's just politics. The government spends millions to rehabilitate criminals, and they do almost nothing for the victims. In public schools you can teach that homosexuality is OK, but you better not use the word God in the process. You can kill an unborn child, but it's wrong to execute a mass murderer.'' We're all watching. We can't take our eyes off of it, and the various networks make sure we don't. It's the horrible, growing tragedy in Japan: the apparent or likely meltdowns of the four nuclear reactors.
Fifteen thousand or even more Japanese civilians have lost their lives, swept to destruction by the tsunami that resulted from the massive 9-point earthquake. And multiplied thousands more are now threatened with lethal radiation from the breakup and meltdowns of the four reactors that had been supplying a huge portion of Japan's energy. At various points, even expert technicians and government people had to be waved away from even the areas surrounding the boiling, exploding reactors, because the risk of radiation is too great.
Conflicting reports, some from the Japanese officials and some from American scientists, make it uncertain about the immediate size of the dangers. But our American observers feel that the exposed rods aren't being cooled, that serious and widespread radiation is being wafted by the sea winds toward inland Japan – and that the government may not be telling their own people the truth they need to hear.
Meanwhile, the weather is greatly complicating things. It's been very cold and windy, even snowing, further hampering efforts to control the leaks and adding to the misery of the homeless. There hasn't been nearly enough food and other necessities for the citizens, and the loss of the nuclear power has caused massive blackouts across a huge part of the nation.
Could it be any worse? Yes, it could … and is. And their misery is contagious, involving other nations and peoples, including the U.S.
Japan's economy is closely linked to ours. Just since the giant quake, the aftershocks and the nightmarish nuclear leak occurred, our stock market has taken a very deep dive. Along with China, Japan has bought many billions of our bonds, the massive bond obligations that have created our $15 trillion in debt, and those debts have to be paid. Paid? By whom? You guessed it – the American taxpayer, through our runaway, irresponsible wildly spendthrift government. Wise investors realize that a panicked, troubled nation may have to call for payment, or try to unload our bonds at discounts to whoever might want them.
So our economy is already being shaken and affected. And there have been terrible reports of tsunami damage, even loss of life, in Hawaii and along our western shores. From a quake in Japan, all the way across the wide Pacific! And there has been concern about the possibility of nuclear radiation reaching our shores as well, carried by the ocean winds. Nero is my hero

Why Japan could have won the war

''Accustomed as I am to seeing abreacting Americans or unhinged Haitians, these sights astounded me. My heroes have always been in the Greek tradition. This makes the silent, stoic, refined Japanese my heroes.'' On the day that a venerated American institution was preparing to bestow an award for transparency in government on President Barack Obama ̶ the domestic equivalent of the president's Nobel peace prize, Charles Krauthammer called it ̶ members of our country's media were accusing the Japanese government of secrecy. On that day, Neurotic Nation USA, egged on by the meltdown media, began hoarding Geiger counters and potassium iodide supplements as a protection against imaginary radiation plumes from Japan, wafting across 5,000 miles of ocean. Subtract 13 feet.
Eastern Japan is now 13 feet closer to North America, as a result of the tectonic-plate shift that caused an earthquake measuring 9 on the Richter scale and a tsumani that has pulverized Japan's northeastern coastal region. The quake has damaged reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear complex.
Our country's edgy experts have ordered the evacuation of Americans in Japan within a 50-mile radius of the damaged reactors at Fukushima. Japan is being harangued to ape America. The Japanese have, so far, moved people from within a 20-kilometer radius of the power plant. Funny that. The Neurotic Nation, whose military personnel in Japan are popping iodine pills if they've so much as flown over, or visited, the vicinity, expects the country that is fielding "The Fukushima 50" to do the same.
"The Fukushima 50" are volunteers from the Tokyo Electric Power Company. These men are working under near-impossible conditions at the problem power station to douse radioactive fires and spent nuclear rods, and to plug reactor containment vessels. As we say in the U.S., these men are taking a hit for the team.
Judging by their bombast, you'd think that our experts have been to the site at Fukushima. Indeed, Gregory Jaczko, chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, asserted that the water meant to cover and cool the spent fuel pool at the No. 4 reactor had evaporated, leaving the rods dangerously exposed. They were overheating, he declared from ground zero … at the House Energy and Commerce Committee panel in Washington.
"It's way past Three Mile Island already," crowed physicist Frank von Hippel. "The biggest risk now is that the core really melts down and you have a steam explosion." Where exactly was professor von Hippel situated when he issued his doom-laden predictions? At Princeton, N.J. 3-in-One

I am an un-convicted felon

''Without restitution, justice cannot be served. In our criminal justice system restitution is paid to the government. A thousand dollar fine and six-months in jail does nothing to make the victim whole. It does, however, encourage the government to look for more criminals. The chance of justice winnows when the government has a financial interest in the outcome of the trial.'' Our criminal justice system is broken because it does not produce justice. In fact, that is not even its goal. The criminal non-justice system has become an industry designed to enrich those who benefit off of the “prosecution of crime.” Judges, lawyers, prisons, and those ancillary people who provide court services do not benefit when a justice system produces justice. They only benefit from creating crimes, and catching, prosecuting, fining, incarcerating, and “rehabilitating” those who commit them.
Even proving your innocence is expensive. Most times it is cheaper to “cop a plea” than to fight it. What good does it do you to be found innocent if you lost your house proving it? Shouldn’t the prosecutor have to re-pay the accused if guilt was not established?
In today’s America you are only one miss-step away from being classified as a “convicted felon.” Crime is big business, and although we are told that “crime does not pay”, the nation is full of those who make a living off of those who “violate the law.”
There are over 4,000 federal crimes, and many times that number of “regulations” that carry criminal penalties, let alone state and local statutes. God only came up with ten, and Jesus later whittled it down to two. I guess the Holy Trinity didn’t need the cash flow.
In the recent election one of the candidates for “prosecuting attorney” in our county ran radio ads stating that if he was elected he would make sure that “criminals went to jail.” It never entered his mind that that was not what his job was designed to do. The role of the prosecution is to make sure justice is served…not to make sure more Americans go to jail. http://www.newswithviews.com/Daubenmire/dave229.htm

Hot New Drug: Caffeine

''Why is caffeine-free coffee better for us? It isn't. Caffeine is an element that goes into many of the food products and pharmaceutical products we use today. And, you have to get the caffeine from somewhere, or you have to synthesize it in the laboratory. The full octane cola soft drinks you consume contain as much caffeine as a cup of full octane coffee but probably not as much caffeine that is found in a cup of black tea.'' If you want to increase the odds of not having a stroke or missing that severe nervous tension headache that increasingly plagues you because of the stress at work, or trying to figure out how to make your paycheck stretch from one payday to the next, drink coffee. Not decaf. High octane, fully caffeinated coffee.
For years the medical community has known the curative affect of caffeine, but because the social progressive do-gooders in our society today have decided that caffeine is bad for you, they have lobbied against caffeine. They also lobbied in favor of vegetable shortening against—ugh—lard; and against butter in favor of the high cholesterol, heart attack-causing margarine. And, of course, favoring vegan diets that exclude red meat when the medical evidence shows that food cooked in good old-fashioned lard is better for you than vegetable shortening. And, fresh churned butter is healthier than margarine. Or that calorie-rich cane sugar or high fructose corn syrup is far better for you than aspartame sweeteners since aspartic acid is a neuexicter (that ultimately cause problems with the human central nervous system). Why would health officials or the Food & Drug Administration [FDA] actively promote synthetic food substances over natural food substances? Two reasons. First, the social progressives live in a "Chicken Little Society" in which the sky is going to fall and if society is not prepared for the day it happens, bad things will happen. So, they allow bad things to happen as they prepare for bad things to happen. Second, and most important, they do it because it is profitable to do it. Very, very profitable. When the princes of industry create new products, they need to upset the market place to quickly gain market share and displace the current industry leader. The best way is to have the government declare the old product leader to be, if not dangerous, then at least not healthy.
For example, in 1901 a German chemist named Wilhelm Normann discovered the process of hydrogenating vegetable fats by chemically creating a solidifying agent that later became known as trans fats (which we know today as something that clogs up our arteries). Normann patented his process in 1903. Chemist Edwin Kayser acquired Normann's patent to make bar soap. Proctor & Gamble hired Kayser, who use Normann's patent to solidify vegetable oil into a solid and, in the process, created Crisco™ Shortening in 1911. Crisco™ was first sold through J.M. Smucker, the jam maker (which was owned by Proctor & Gamble). Using the financial muscle Proctor & Gamble possesses, their lobbyists convinced the growing federal bureaucracy in the 1930s and 1940s that protein-rich animal-based lard was not as healthy as vegetable-based shortening. http://www.newswithviews.com/Ryter/jon340.htm

Radiation? Japan is aging, shrinking and dying

''Today, only 23 percent of Japan's population is under 25, more than 30 percent of all Japanese are over 60, and Japan's median age has shot up to 45. Japan is projected to lose 3 million people this decade, and nearly 6 million in the 2020s. To put it starkly, Japan is aging, shrinking and dying.'' We can thank Providence that the earthquake was not 150 miles closer to Tokyo, or else Japan's dead might number in the millions.
Prime Minister Naoto Kan calls it the worst crisis since World War II. Yet, horrendous as it is, it does not, thus far, compare with that. For the earthquake dead are not 1 percent of those who perished in World War II.
Between 1942 and 1945, Japan was stripped naked of an empire that embraced Formosa, Korea, Manchuria, the entire China coast, all of French Indochina (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia), Thailand, Burma, Malaysia, Singapore, the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia), the Philippines and the Western Pacific out to Guam and south to Guadalcanal.
She sustained 2 million military dead and 500,000 to a million civilian dead under U.S. carpet-bombing that reduced her great cities to smoldering rubble and Hiroshima and Nagasaki to atomic ash.
Yet, 25 years after the most devastating defeat in modern history, Japan boasted the second-largest and most dynamic economy on earth.
Under the proconsulship of Gen. MacArthur, Japan rose to her feet, renounced war and reached an annual growth rate of 10 percent by the 1960s, 5 percent in the 1970s, 4 percent in the 1980s. Smaller than Montana and with fewer resources, she created an economy half as large as the U.S. and in many ways technologically superior.
An extraordinary accomplishment of an extraordinary people.
At the end of the 1980s, Japan seemed poised to surpass America.
It did not happen. The last two decades were lost decades, with Japan's economy shrinking to a third of that of the United States. Last year, Japan was overtaken as the world's second-largest economy by China. Beijing now produces more automobiles and has a trade surplus with America that dwarfs that of Japan.
In 1988, eight of the 10 largest companies in the world were Japanese. Today, Japan does not have one company in the top 20 and only six in the top 100. Her national debt is 200 percent of gross domestic product.
Can Japan come back from this earthquake and 20 years of economic stagnation and political malaise to recover the dynamism she exhibited in the decades after World War II?
To do so will require a far greater miracle. The reason for such pessimism may be summed up in a single word: demography. Read more: Can Japan rise again? http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=275077#ixzz1Gf1FngM8

Flagging Japan

Japan tsunami: Here's how you can help

The world stands transfixed before images of Japan experiencing what Prime Minister Naoto Kan says is the "most severe crisis since the war ended 65 years ago."
But nations also are responding quickly to the devastation, sending aid workers, rescue equipment, and humanitarian supplies to the beleaguered Japanese people. From the United States, that includes US Navy and Marine Corps units as part of what’s been dubbed “Operation Tomodachi” – Japanese for “friendship.”
"We have units from all of our services, with a multitude of capabilities, from medical to communications to civil engineering, poised and ready to support where needed," John Roos, US ambassador to Japan, said Saturday.
The aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and its support ships arrived in the area over the weekend. Helicopters from the aircraft carrier are delivering food and water to stricken communities, and the ship can act as a platform for refueling Japanese helicopters involved in rescue and recovery efforts ashore.
Initial help from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) includes two search-and-rescue teams – one from Fairfax County, Virginia, and one from Los Angeles County – each with 72 workers, 75 tons of rescue equipment, and dogs trained to detect live victims.
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have responded quickly as well.
Doctors Without Borders has sent three-person teams to some of the hardest hit areas in Japan. The Los Angeles-based International Medical Corps has deployed an emergency response team as well. Mercy Corps, based in Portland, Oregon, and working with its Japanese partner Peace Winds, will be setting up “balloon shelters,” which can accommodate up to 600 people, and it’s also sending large emergency tents, water, food, and blankets.
Meanwhile, there are many ways for individuals and families to help, although officials caution against the possibility of charity scammers of the type that proliferated after Hurricane Katrina.
“If you decide to donate money to the Japanese tsunami relief effort, you would want your money to go where it can do the most good to help victims and their families,” said Washington State Secretary of State Sam Reed. “So we encourage you to check before you give by doing your homework on the charities asking for your money. We don’t want scammers to benefit from this tragedy.”
On his website blog, Mr. Reed says to make sure you ask these questions before sending a check or giving out your credit card number over the phone or online:
• Is the charity or fundraiser registered with the state? • What is the name, address, and telephone number of the organization asking for the donation?• Exactly how will the donation be used?• What percentage of the contribution will actually be spent on the charitable purpose of the organization?
Many familiar and longstanding charities are taking donations via websites and text messages. Some examples:
Text "redcross" to 90999 to make a $10 donation to the American Red Cross. Text "japan" or "quake" to 80888 to donate $10 to the Salvation Army. Text “4japan” to 20222 to send a $10 donation to the humanitarian group World Vision. The charges will appear on your cell phone bill.
Most major groups post updates about their activities on website blogs as well as on Twitter and Facebook. Texting “corps” to 30644 will bring Mercy Corps updates in response.
For a list of charitable organizations, check out InterAction, the largest alliance of U.S.-based international NGOs. The Better Business Bureau and Charity Navigator are good ways to check out charities as well.

HOLY CRAP: They Found Atlantis!

''Debate about whether Atlantis truly existed has lasted for thousands of years. Plato's "dialogues" from around 360 B.C. are the only known historical sources of information about the iconic city. Plato said the island he called Atlantis "in a single day and night... disappeared into the depths of the sea."

A U.S.-led research team may have finally located the lost city of Atlantis, the legendary metropolis believed swamped by a tsunami thousands of years ago in mud flats in southern Spain.
"This is the power of tsunamis," head researcher Richard Freund told Reuters.
"It is just so hard to understand that it can wipe out 60 miles inland, and that's pretty much what we're talking about," said Freund, a University of Hartford, Connecticut, professor who lead an international team searching for the true site of Atlantis.
To solve the age-old mystery, the team used a satellite photo of a suspected submerged city to find the site just north of Cadiz, Spain. There, buried in the vast marshlands of the Dona Ana Park, they believe that they pinpointed the ancient, multi-ringed dominion known as Atlantis.
The team of archeologists and geologists in 2009 and 2010 used a combination of deep-ground radar, digital mapping, and underwater technology to survey the site.
Freund's discovery in central Spain of a strange series of "memorial cities," built in Atlantis' image by its refugees after the city's likely destruction by a tsunami, gave researchers added proof and confidence, he said.
Atlantis residents who did not perish in the tsunami fled inland and built new cities there, he added.
The team's findings will be unveiled on Sunday in "Finding Atlantis," a new National Geographic Channel special.

"Benedict Obama" and "Hillary Arnold"

''For the most part, Americans take the incompetence, selfishness and greed, which characterize many of our current politicians, in stride. However, the Obama administration is not merely incompetent, selfish and greedy, they are actively committing high treason against the very people who elected them. This betrayal of the highest order could very well result in the destruction of America.'' America is witnessing the most direct threat to its financial solvency and ultimately its national sovereignty in its 235 year history, World War II and the Great Depression notwithstanding.
If the international bankers have their way, the contrived multiple crises in the Middle East will serve to ultimately obliterate the U.S. dollar and pave the way for the ushering in of a one world currency which was "coincidentally" called for two weeks ago by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Obama administration is lining up to serve the malevolent needs of these international thugs.
After Tunisia fell, I predicted on The Common Sense Show talk show that this event would lead to a myriad of government destabilizations throughout the Middle East and ultimately the Muslim Brotherhood would be firmly entrenched as the dominant secular/religious leaders for the region and will spell the end of America.
The United States dollar is being used as the reserve currency for the sale of oil. This is also the primary reason that America's debt ridden, fiat currency has not collapsed. America's oil reserve currency status is the sole reason that Americans have comparatively cheap energy and why we pay less for gas and food than does the rest of the world...Finally, to those who think that all is well, consider the following: Yuseff Al-Qardawi, the most influential cleric of the Muslim Brotherhood, has returned from exile to Egypt to lead the Cairo celebrations of the fall of Egyptian government. In Cairo's Tahrir square, Al-Qardawi led a rally to celebrate the fall of the Egyptian government. Keep in mind that he has previously called for the extermination of all Jews. Yet, the establishment controlled media outlet, Reuters, issued a news release quoting Al-Qardawi as "inviting Christians to bow down with the Moslem brothers and give thanks to God…" This woulld be reassuring if it were true. Reuters is attempting to disguise the intent and motives of Al-Qardawi by falsely portraying him as a moderate. http://www.newswithviews.com/Hodges/dave107.htm

Typical

Earthquakes, Charline Sheen, Labor & Delivery

''Yesterday, out of curiosity, I Googled "Rock Star deaths" and came up with 14 pages of names! Poor Charlie keeps referring to himself as a "rock star," which in truth he's become. Is he going to join all the others who also knew they could defy the odds and nature itself, and survive drugs, alcohol and sexual perversion? Famous, lamented stars like Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, Sid Vicious … Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson, among scores of others on every level of popular entertainment?'' I like the guy. Several million of us do. We care about him. I've greatly admired his dad, Martin Sheen, one of the premier actors – and conscientious activists – of our day. We don't have identical perspectives on political issues, but I see his deep commitment to the things he believes in. It's a worthy heritage and example, for both his sons.
And I've watched with great interest the early careers of both boys, Charlie and Emilio. Each has developed and exploited talents inherited from Martin, and made names and opportunities for himself. Ideally, that's the way things are supposed to go.
But, in recent years and months, things with Charlie have ominously run off the rails. In a checkered trail, the favored son has moved from serious dramatic roles, in which he shone, to TV comedy in the acclaimed sitcom "Two and a Half Men" – and almost unbelievable riches. But the frantic trail left several marriages and five children in its wake. And along the way, we've become sadly aware of drug and alcohol binges, out-of-control violent displays and disturbances, and, increasingly, an erratic and dangerous behavior resulting in court appearances and injunctions keeping his children and former wives and prostitutes at safe distances.
How did this happen? And why?
Well, take a look at his environment in the entertainment industry. There are definite causal influences.
You're surely aware that most of the studios, producers, networks, writers and executives have long since decided that a vast American public can, and will, be seduced into paying to see some of the most sordid and forbidden behavior of which fellow humans are capable. "Reality" shows like "Jersey Shore" that depict real-life young people indulging in wild and profane and promiscuous behavior are promoted and acclaimed. Cable shows like "Weeds" win industry awards as they tell the continuing story of a pretty single mother deeply involved in marijuana trafficking in her neighborhood, in heartland America.
"Jackass" has become a juggernaut of profitability as it chronicles insane behavior and wildly dangerous stunts among our impressionable young.
"Skins" and "Desperate Housewives" and "Nip/Tuck" and "Gossip Girls" depict folks like us, kids and their parents, all wallowing in decadent and totally immoral behavior – getting away with most of it – and the shows being showered with money, TVGuide covers and industry awards. Even popular, beautifully produced shows like "Brothers and Sisters" and "Modern Family" feel they must include and portray every kind of aberrant behavior and immorality as part of American life, just "the way it is."
So it's no surprise that a writer/producer would conceive and fashion a sitcom intentionally to showcase – and profit from – the already publicized foibles of Charlie Sheen. How could it miss? http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=273877
