Enjoying the Small Things

''I cannot begin to tell you how much I love her. I wouldn't trade her for the world, and y'all can have that heart you let me borrow back. My broken heart has been healed...and if you held her, you'd know what I mean.''

No Death Penalty for Down's

"These results will be quite shocking to many Americans, who might have some misperceptions about what it means to have Down syndrome. Family members have spoken and have said life is positive with Down syndrome." The foundation of this constitutional republic, as we used to be taught, is individual liberties – as in the Bill of Rights. Enter 25-year-old college student Melissa Reilly, brought to us by health news writer Kimberly Hayes Taylor in "Down syndrome's rewards touted as new (contrary) test looms" (msnbc.msn.com, Sept. 29):

"She travels to represent the Down syndrome community internationally, and is a Special Olympian who brings home gold medals in skiing, cycling and swimming. Additionally, she interns for a Massachusetts state senator and tutors pre-school students with Down syndrome in math and reading."

Darkly, the other "new (contrary) test looming" could greatly lower the future possibilities of more Melissa Reillys. As I previously reported, the new test will enable pregnant women to find out more quickly whether their child will have Down syndrome, and I expect nearly all of these women will abort the child. Right now, 92 percent of American mothers do just that.

The vital reality of having Melissa Reilly among us represents the experiences of other Down syndrome survivors in three recent surveys by doctors at Boston's prestigious Children's Hospital.

Author of the lead study, as Taylor reports, is Dr. Brian Skotko, a clinical fellow in genetics at Children's Hospital. It is his hope – and mine – that "the research on more than 3,000 Down syndrome patients and family members published in the October edition of the American Journal of Medical Genetics, will serve to better inform expectant parents and clinicians providing prenatal care" so that the other looming test will not condemn countless other Melissa Reillys to death.

If this is the first you are reading of what may well become this mass rescue of American lives, the indication is that much of our instant media has found other more titillating subjects on which to concentrate.

Skotko found "that among siblings ages 12 and older, 97 percent expressed feelings of pride about their brother or sister with Down syndrome, and 88 percent were convinced they were (themselves) better people because of their sibling with Down syndrome."

And dig this about a third study of how adults with Down syndrome feel about themselves: "99 percent responded they were happy with their lives, 97 percent liked who they are, and 96 percent liked how they looked."

Testimony from Melissa Reilly: "I love my life 100 percent," she said, explaining that her brothers' and sister's friends are her friends, too, and she accompanies them on outings and vacations.

"I love my life for the things I do, and the places I go. We are one happy, loving family."

To be balanced, Taylor also interviewed Arthur Caplan, a professor of bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania. I know his work well. He and I both write for Free Inquiry magazine, and I also read his tough-minded, empirical work elsewhere.

Taylor writes that Caplan notes these Children's Hospital findings are limited by the fact that "families willing to document their experience in a survey tend to be those with a Down syndrome child on the healthier and more high-functioning end of the spectrum."

Taylor further writes that while Caplan acknowledges the study's "powerful data" and "important perspective," it may not "change people's minds."

That's why I am writing this column – to try to persuade as many as I can not to easily accept the common treatment of Down syndrome and condemn those diagnosed with it to death. How hopeful am I? I am not brimming with optimism. As Caplan reflects: "Even though society has learned more about what Down syndrome (Americans) can do, it still turns out that some prospective parents won't be willing to accept that story. http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=372789

Iran threatens 150,000 missile response

''Saber-rattling rhetoric in the Middle East is reaching new heights. Israel is reportedly deploying its long-range Jericho missiles around Jerusalem, while the Iranian defense minister threatened massive missile retaliation against Israel.

The threat to launch “150,000 or more” missiles was voiced by Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi on Sunday as he was delivering a speech before army volunteers. Earlier Iranian officials threatened retaliation against both Israel and NATO, should an attack on Iran be carried out.

Meanwhile Israel is reportedly deploying its own missiles around Jerusalem and in the West Bank. The missiles carried into position by military tracks resemble the Jericho missiles, says Aaron Klein, head of the Jerusalem bureau for WorldNetDaily, citing several eyewitness accounts.

The reporter speculates that this may be a military drill, possibly linked to the earlier rocket test fire. The missile launched from the Palmachim test center was reportedly meant to test a new engine for the long-range Jericho III design. Its specifications are classified, but military experts believe the Israeli missile to be capable of carrying a nuclear warhead to any destination in the Middle East, most of Europe, North America and Africa.

Klein believes such a drill may be carried out either as a step in the escalating conflict over Iranian nuclear program or due to the unstable situation in Syria. http://rt.com/news/missile-tossing-iran-israel-457/

The Set-Up

The Coming War

''Israel can be expected to launch an air strike against Iranian nuclear facilities and send ships into the Persian Gulf. The Caspian Sea and Persian Gulf areas are the major distribution points for oil from Siberia and Iran to sell to Europe. A military conflict at this time could cause a global economic meltdown, riots in the streets, food shortages, martial law and mass chaos. Those who say,” Never let a good crisis go to waste,” will move quickly to radically transform our nation.'' Due to Vladimir Putin, Russia is no longer a poor nation. It has built up $516 billion in foreign reserves, which is the world’s third largest, after China and Japan. Russia is now the world’s largest oil exporter, putting it ahead of Saudi Arabia. Tapping into its massive Siberian oil fields, some of which are very close to Alaska, has made Russia the number one oil and gas exporter in the world. In contrast, due to environmental regulations, the U.S. is unable to tap into its massive oil reserves such as the AMWR oil fields which could supply the oil needs of the U.S. for the next 200 years. Moreover, Russia possesses the world’s most advanced military after the USA.

It is interesting to note that the prophet Ezekiel in Ezekiel 38 predicts a last days’ invasion of Israel, led by Russia, Iran and other Middle Eastern nations. The Ezekiel 38 invasion is also known as the War of Gog and Magog. Bible scholars disagree as to whether the War of Gog and Magog happens before Armageddon or towards the end of Armageddon. Military generals from around the world refer to this coming conflict as World War III. This is why there is a mad rush around the world to build massive underground bases the size of cities, preparation against nuclear attacks and why the U.S. has invested in a Nationwide Emergency Alert System. According to research provided by Researcher Joel C. Skousen in his World Affairs Brief “Further, the Russians are building huge underground nuclear bunkers and weapons production facilities in the Ural Mountains, clearly intended to function during a nuclear war. "Yamantau Mountain is the largest nuclear-secure project in the world," said US Congressman Roscoe Bartlett (R-Md). "They have very large train tracks running in and out of it [actually 5 tracks wide], with enormous rooms carved inside the mountain.

It has been built to resist a half dozen direct nuclear hits, one after the other in a direct hole. It's very disquieting that the Russians are doing this when they [supposedly] don't have $200 million to build the service module on the international space station and can't pay housing for their own military people." Ken Timmerman, one of the best sources of information on the subject says, "The Russians have constructed two entire cities over the site, known as Beloretsk 15 & 16, which are closed to the public, each with 30,000 workers. No foreigner has ever set foot near the site. A US military attaché stationed in Moscow was turned back when he attempted to visit the region a few years ago..."

In public testimony before a House Armed Services Subcommittee last October, KGB defector Col. Oleg Gordievsky said the KGB had maintained a separate, top-secret organization, known as Directorate 15, to build and maintain a network of underground command bunkers for the Soviet leadership -- including the vast site beneath Yamantau Mountain. In Revelation 6:16-17, the world’s elite are hiding in massive underground bunkers in the rocks looking for safety as nuclear war goes off during the Tribulation Period, “and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

Russia, Iran and an alliance on Militant Muslin nations will invade Israel. Ezekiel 38:1-7 gives us a list of the nations that will come against Israel.

“Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh,] Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords. Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops—many people are with you.”

The nations that Ezekiel named in his prophecy are many of the nations that are still with us today. For example:

The land of Magog .................... Russia
Meshech and Tubal .................. Somewhere in Russia
Persia ......................................... Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan
Ethiopia ..................................... Ethiopia and Sudan
Libya .......................................... Libya
Ashkenaz .................................. Austria and Germany
Gomer ....................................... Eastern Europe
Togarmah ................................. Southeastern Europe-Turkey
"Many peoples with thee" ...... Nations allied with Russia

Christmas Tree Dogs

The Ultimate Weapon of the Left

"If only Herman Cain were elected president -- it would put paid to the issue of racism and excise it from our polity for good."

I couldn't believe my ears hearing this wistful nonsense from a good friend of mine. How could an otherwise intelligent and clear-eyed person be so naïve? How could he be so willfully blind to the obvious: that no matter what happens, until the progressive movement gives up its ghost (and I am not holding my breath that it will happen any time soon), race will be an ever-present hobgoblin of the American body politic? Here is why, as the aforementioned Herman Cain likes to say.

No sooner had Richard Nixon abolished the draft than the antiwar movement suddenly lost its steam and collapsed, exposing the true motivation of its participants. It became immediately apparent that the "revolutionaries" actually cared very little about the Vietnamese. The radical verbiage and Ho Chi Minh's portraits brandished by the antiwar protesters served merely to disguise their reluctance to get in harm's way for the sake of "a far-away people of whom we know nothing," as Neville Chamberlain would have put it.

The revolutionary leaders, who had hoped to ride the antiwar movement to power by converting "the imperialist war into a civil war" (in the footsteps of the Russian Bolsheviks), had to go back to the drawing board and rethink strategy. The solution they hit upon had been suggested as far back as the 1930s by a noted Italian communist theoretician named Antonio Gramsci. Finding himself with a lot of time on his hands as he languished in Mussolini's prison, Gramsci pondered deeply the precepts of Marxist theory and came to the conclusion that St. Karl was wrong: the working class was actually a bourgeoisie in the making and could be considered at best a tool of the revolution, but not its agent. Its lack of revolutionary zeal is particularly glaring in America, with its extraordinary economic dynamism and social mobility, where the popular saying "my son will own the factory where I work" reflects the genuine aspirations of the blue-collar segment of society.

According to the Italian communist, cultural hegemony was the only necessary and sufficient prerequisite of drastic social transformations. It followed that the intelligentsia, the sole truly revolutionary class, had to seize control of the leading cultural institutions -- above all schools, academia, and the media. If the left succeeded in indoctrinating the populace and bending it to its will -- if it subverted society from within until it rotted to the core and dropped in their lap like an overripe fruit, the revolutionaries would achieve their goal and seize power without firing a shot. And so the American left embarked upon what it called a Long March through the Institutions.

But if not the proletariat, who was to be the "grave-digger of capitalism"? If not class warfare, what was to be the animating principle of the revolutionary movement? The answer readily suggested itself. Slavery was the Cardinal American Sin, the indelible blot on the national conscience. Hence racial guilt, America's Achilles' heel, was chosen as the stalking horse of the coming revolution, the battering ram of the forces of progress storming the ramparts.

A White House nothing-to-see-here story

''Much of Washington is down and out of sight. Some of this world we know well and visit often, such as Metro or the passageways that connect the Capitol’s buildings. Much of the Smithsonian’s Sackler Gallery is underground. The National Aquarium is beneath the Commerce Department building. There are steam tunnels and old Civil War bunkers and deep-down parking garages.'' The feds may claim that it’s just “upgrades and replacement of utility infrastructure” of a size and complexity that require the excavation of a hole so big it could easily fit the entire Cabinet — and maybe some members of Congress, too. But they’re somewhat vague as to the specifics. And so we wonder.

It’s a bunker, right? It’s gotta be a bunker.

Make that another bunker. There’s already the underground Situation Room, which was renovated and expanded to 5,000 square feet in 2007, and the nuclear bomb shelter below the East Wing, where Vice President Richard B. Cheney was taken on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001. And who knows what else sits beneath the White House? A tunnel to the State Department? A secret passage to the Treasury?

With all that subterranean space, think of the White House not just as a 200-year-old, neoclassical Federal-style mansion, but as the tip of an iceberg. Think of what you don’t see. It’s a building with roots, which in D.C. is not uncommon.

Underground is where it’s at in Washington — and not only for the president, who makes some of his most important decisions while at the altitude of a mole. Thanks to a height restriction that keeps the skyline in a sort of humble genuflection to the Washington National Cathedral, the city’s highest structure, there are no 100th-floor views. The elevators barely make it to double digits. From the rooftops, people on the streets below look like dolls, not ants.

War is Right and Good - Sometimes

''The only moral equivalent for taking a human life is the taking of the life of a "life taker" by a properly constituted authority – capital punishment for an individual, war for a nation.'' Most Boomers will recognize that title as an anti-war anthem popularized by Edwin Starr during the Vietnam era. "Absolutely nothing," was the writer's answer. His position was that war has absolutely no substantive value and that few, if any, truly intelligent people support war. Let me be unambiguous; I am not in favor of war for the sake of war. Wars should only be fought as a last resort and never for conquests, oppression or religious reasons. I also want to make clear my deep grief for the loss of any human life, as every person is valuable beyond compare. However, there are times when war is a necessity.

Let us personalize the issue. An individual has repeatedly stated publicly that he is going to "wipe you and your family off the face of the earth." Suddenly, you learn he is on the way to your house armed with a gun. You also have a weapon, purchased specifically for self-defense. The individual storms into your yard where your children are playing, all the while shouting threats. You have called 9-1-1. Question: Do you wait to see if 1) he really means it, 2) your neighbors will intervene, 3) the cops will arrive in time or 4) do you perceive this as a bona fide threat to you and your family and launch a pre-emptive strike?

I do not profess to have all the facts or answers; however, I do submit the following for your consideration:

Recently, the world was "shocked" to learn that Iran, which has threatened repeatedly and publicly to "wipe Israel off the map," is, despite Western hopes to the contrary, rapidly developing nuclear weapons. In our man-coming-to-your-housescenario, the threat was imaginary. For Israel, the threat is real. They have called 9-1-1 (appealed to the U.N.), waited for their neighbors (the U.S. and EU) to intervene, and now Iran is on the verge of having nuclear warheads and missiles capable of reaching Israel first. Does Israel now wait to see if Iran really means it? ("Oh wow, they really did mean it!")

It is my conviction that all of the above positions demonstrate a lack of knowledge of a fundamental truth: God is not a cosmic cop. God is The Sovereign and man is a sovereign. (A sovereign is autonomous, free from all outside controlling influences, enjoys full legal equality with other sovereigns and governs its own properly defined territory.) As a sovereign, man is endowed with what I call decisionability, the power to exercise free will, the power of self-determination. Man is authorized to make independent decisions completely free from any outside influence or control, including God's. In other words, man can do and believe whatever he chooses, including not believing the Bible or even that there is a God.

Light bulb freedom

Time to stock up on light bulbs

Within four weeks, it will be a crime to manufacture a 100-watt version of Thomas A. Edison’s brilliant invention. Thanks to a Democratic Congressand the signature of President George W. Bush in 2007, anti-industrial zealots at the Energy Department received authority to blot out one of the greatest achievements of the industrial age. They’re coming for our light bulbs.

We'll all be Birthers

''Liberal Progressives are changing the face, values, beliefs, and patriotism of our America and transforming it into nameless, impersonal, weak, third world nation. And we Americans are allowing this to happen….'' Surprise! He is legal…or maybe not. The BC he presented—or by his aides—appears to have been altered, as seen in smudges, incorrect alignment, and blurring, as well as the surrounding grids not lining up with those written on and adjacent to the print.

The Patriot Update affirms the questions regarding Obama’s BC:[3]

Is this certificate real? Someone as powerful as Obama has become would easily have the capability to put false data anywhere in the world. Supposedly this has document has been verified by the state of Hawaii. The White House is using an excuse that they had to get a special exception in order to get a copy of the certificate. Really? So when was the last time you were told you couldn’t get a copy of your own medical records? That’s not going to happen. The lies continue and something just doesn’t smell right with this. Some interesting points to consider about the authenticity include:

Supposedly the original document was in a bound volume (as reflected by the curvature of the left hand side of the certificate), why is the green patterned background of the document’s safety paper seem to be so seamless?
Why, if Obama was born on August 4, 1961, was the “Date Accepted by Local Reg.” four days later on August 8, 1961?
The certificate says “African” for Obama’s father’s race when the term used in the 1960’s was “Negro.”

Consider this confirmation: Obama’s BC stating his father was from Kenya comes under fire simply because Kenya was a British protectorate:

“... [Kenya]...was established when the former East Africa Protectorate was transformed into a British crown colony in 1920. Despite British hopes of handing power to ‘moderate’ African rivals, it was the Kenya African National Union (KANU) of Jomo Kenyatta that formed a government shortly before Kenya became independent on 12 December 1963...On 12 December 1964 the Republic of Kenya was proclaimed, and Jomo Kenyatta became Kenya's first president.”[4]

Why would a legitimate birth certificate have that on it?

Likewise, the hospital he named in Hawaii as his birth place (Kapiolani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital) was not called what he claimed it was. Kapiolani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital listed on his BC was not in existence when he was born. Confusion reigns over his proclamation of which hospital he was born in, and two other hospital names: Kauikeolani Children's Hospital and Kapi'olani Maternity Home.

State Representative Leo Berman states, R-Tyler:[5]

Neither hospital recognized the fact that he was born there and not only that, but you would think that the hospital that gave birth to the president of the United States would have some kind of commemorative plaque or something.

Sound fishy?

Yet, many people seem to accept his birth certificate which has thus quieted the protestors. But is he really legal? He may very well be, but we may never know. But it seems from many Americans’ viewpoint that he does have Muslim leanings, along with a penchant to change America for the worst. Was he fronted for office by a very wealthy and powerful cabal to change our country, of which he is doing? He is transforming our beloved country into a socialist/communist nation…and few are doing anything about this.

There may be some teeth in the birthers’ position, as pointed out below:

Aaron Dykes and Alex Jones claim:

Speaking today on the Alex Jones Show, investigative journalist Jerome R. Corsi dropped a huge bombshell. Dr. Corsi provided proof that he was alerted to an on-going plot to release a fake [birth certificate] more than two months before President Obama released his purported long-form birth certificate.

Corsi supplied Infowars.com with time-stamped Microsoft Word documents [.ZIP] of five unpublished World Net Daily investigative drafts, written between February 23 and February 24, 2011, two months before Obama’s April 27 birth certificate press conference. The unpublished reports confirm that moles inside the Hawaiian State government, including one inside the Department of Health, had warned Corsi of a plan by Obama operatives to plant and then publicly release a forged birth certificate.[6]

On PolitFact.com, as related above, a site that has dedicated years to discerning Obama’s legitimacy, author Amy Hollyfield writes:[7]

“…spokesman Janice Okubo told us:

Then the firestorm started.

- Where are the embossed seal and the registrar’s signature?
- Comparing it to other Hawaii birth certificates, the color shade is different.
- Isn’t the date stamp bleeding through the back of the document “June 2007?” (Odd since it ws supposedly released in June 2008.)
- There’s no crease from being folded and mailed.
- It is clearly Photo-shopped and a wholesale fraud.”

And there’s the rub. It is possible that Obama conspired his way to the world’s biggest job, involving a vast network of people and government agencies over decades of lies. Anything is possible with him and our corrupt congress and corporate fascists.

Noteworthy is that Obama produced his full BC after Donald Trump needled him. That may have been a test for Trump to determine how many people would even consider this president’s honesty or whether Trump himself would be a viable candidate. Thus, the results may have served as the decisive factor in Trump’s consideration for running for president, but whatever his reason, he did manage to wrench something out of Obama, bringing to the forefront the entire issue of his legitimacy, all be it, not resolved. People laugh at the thought of Trump deliberating over a bid for the U.S. presidency, but one thing is certain: He knows how to make money, earn more of it, organize multi-billion dollar businesses, and hire and fire. Would he have uplifted our financial mess? If so, with his ability to direct others, his money prowess, his skill in picking capable employees, his lack of ties to the good ol’ boys and the political machinery, and his sense of fairness, we may fare better with him, if he were to run, than the same old candidates, election after election, who are beholding to the political machinery.

So who really is Mr. Obama? Could he be a Muslim? A Muslim infiltrator? A Kenyan native or an American citizen? We don’t know; the only thing that is apparent is that he is still not showing us the real stuff. http://www.newswithviews.com/Hayes/gianni133.htm

New from Victor's Secret Catalog

Ingratitude and Forgetting by Barack Obama

Today we're making a comment by publishing here the Thanksgiving Message of President Abraham Lincoln from 1863. He issued it in the midst of what remains this country's worst military conflict ever and yet he still found much to be thankful for. (The photo above was taken during Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address in March, 1865, when he had just a few weeks of life left. That's him standing center front, hatless.)

Much has been made annually by subsequent presidents, including the current one, about the cozy thanksgiving part of this autumn Thursday, the assembled families, the food and warm times.

Lincoln said: "I do therefore invite my fellow-citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next as a day of thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens."

However, considerably less notice has been taken in recent times of the last 11 words of this Lincoln sentence, the ones about to whom we should be grateful: "and praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens."

Read Lincoln's Thanksgiving message below here. And then read Obama's Thanksgiving message here. Do you notice anything significant missing from the 2011 one?

President Lincoln's Thanksgiving Message, 1863

The year that is drawing toward its close has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added which are of so extraordinary a nature that they can not fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever-watchful providence of Almighty God.

In the midst of a civil war of unequaled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign states to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere, except in the theater of military conflict, while that theater has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union.

Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defense have not arrested the plow, the shuttle, or the ship; the ax has enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well as the iron and coal as of our precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. Population has steadily increased notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege, and the battlefield, and the country, rejoicing in the consciousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years with large increase of freedom.

No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy.

It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently, and gratefully acknowledged, as with one heart and one voice, by the whole American people. I do therefore invite my fellow-citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next as a day of thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens.

And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to His tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners, or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the imposition of the Almighty hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it, as soon as may be consistent with the divine purpose, to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquility, and union.

Yes...Why??

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.
People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy - 2 Timothy 3:1-2

The Choice is Now

''We must face this monster down and not stop until the job is done. Will God allow us the wisdom and strength to do this, or is He saying, “your national sin is too great, you have been judged in the scales and are found wanting…..prepare for the end.”'' Even if it were possible to travel in time, I do not believe we could change what has taken place, or what is yet to come. This is not about those subjects, but rather this is a journey to observe where the train went off the tracks and a few of the reasons why.

It is the classic “we can’t see the forest for the trees syndrome” and it is a constant in our vision. It is so, because the galactic battle for the destiny of earth has pitted the forces of evil against the forces of good. God against Satan. It truly boils down to this: Satan is winning on all fronts because human beings are sin filled creatures that choose the “easy” path of the fallen every single time. What’s more they believe they are “entitled” to think that way and you better not argue or they will send the state police.

So what was it during those first five centuries (1600-2000) that brought us to where we are at this moment? Can it be as simple as greed, power and control of people by those in authority? Absolutely, yes, but it reaches out to every single soul that ever lived through the failings of each one of us. NOT JUST THE GOVERNMENT ALONE, NOT EVEN THE BANKS, NOT THE MILITARY OR POLICE AND SECURITY FORCES,…….., BUT IT IS US.

Small business owners, farmers, teachers, parents, pastors, laborers, ranchers, doctors, and inventors, because of our refusal to recognize personal responsibility for this disaster, we stand at the door of complete and total national disgrace and destruction. There is very little chance that we will ever be free again in the historical sense. The personal sacrifice of millions of veterans is now in vain. Freedom, liberty and a moral, honest republic are irrevocably dead. This is not a new thought or one that has not been considered by us all. It just bears repeating, because the complete surrender we have offered to the inept, corrupt, immoral and vicious forces in control of Washington, indeed the world, must be understood, called out to do battle with, and to wage war with, until one side lies defeated, imprisoned and no longer a threat to the other. If we do not do battle, then slavery through cowardly surrender is inevitable and soon to be upon us.

Do you have the guts to look at this unholy scene or will you just stop here and go to the fridge for something to make you feel better?

We must face this monster down and not stop until the job is done. Will God allow us the wisdom and strength to do this, or is He saying, “your national sin is too great, you have been judged in the scales and are found wanting…..prepare for the end.”

We must understand why we are at this supremely critical moment in all of human history. In our understanding, will come peace and repentance, if not national renewal. Let us review and discuss why we are so desperate and so despondent.

In the great overview of history there has been a point and counterpoint to every attempt to improve the lives of men and women in America. It started with the journeys of the Pilgrims and the Puritans seeking a missionary land to build in the image of God Almighty and His son Jesus Christ. This is not debatable, this is historical. Famine, pestilence, violence and a near extinction of the original band of Americans almost destroyed the dream before it grew. Because of the insatiable appetite for riches and territory, the British would not let the new land remain free. That has been the ongoing struggle since those first days. When you add to it the greed and control not only through the Crown, but the English bankers/investors who saw only money for themselves and the elite of that day, slavery has been a constant in America. That situation has never changed to this moment.

How could we have changed it? We could have been much more zealous in destroying all attempts that the bankers heaped upon the young nation, exiled Alexander Hamilton and his crowd, and defeated big government Lincolnites and the Union forces in 1865. The United States, adopting the sovereignty destroying 14th amendment, employing the 1871 further expansion of government’s “corporate” status, and the war on silver, America could have emerged with the ability to grow and expand outside the elite’s rule and thus may have avoided the 1910-1913’s evil reign of the founding of the Federal Reserve, the income tax and the loss of each state’s appointed senators to occupy Washington

Fast forward the time machine to the nationalization of state guard units for deployment during WWI, and the communist rule of internationalist Franklin Roosevelt, America’s bankrupt 1933 Constitution killing national emergency decree just about finished off any hope that the Republic might survive.

Sit Obama

Leftist Christians don't represent me!

''We have a fallen world! A world without violence would be welcomed, but on this sin-stained planet, it won't happen until much later. We have to address such issues realistically and not idealistically. The enemies of freedom are rogue regimes that won't disarm just because America does.'' What is an evangelical? I believe the definition has morphed a bit over some decades now. Evangelicals stress a born-again experience, have a high regard for biblical authority and stress the sharing of the gospel of Jesus Christ. When I finally became "churched" at age 14, it was in a Bible-believing, fundamental church that was committed to the gospel, to missions, to Bible memorization and to the abstinence from some worldly pleasures. Several decades later, I remain an evangelical – but I fear that evangelicalism may have left the train station without me.

Right from the get-go I knew I was not a part of the "social justice" agenda. I did not look down on those folks; I just knew that we looked at biblical issues differently and even looked at the Bible with different glasses. Christians should care about the poor, but to me, poverty, climate change, war, immigration and women's rights were not primary evangelical issues.

Or were they? The times began a-changin' in the 1970s, and by the 1980s, some were concerned that evangelicalism could get hijacked. By the 1990s, the term was being redefined. And in the last 10 years, I fear some of the founders of theNational Association of Evangelicals (NAE), who first met in 1942 to counter the liberal Federal Council of Churches of Christ (which would become the National Council of Churches), were pretty grieved! The 21st century brought a shift to the left. Let me clarify.

In 2006, evangelicals jumped on the global-warming bandwagon. The Evangelical Climate Initiative was formed. Eighty-six evangelical Christian leaders decided to back a major initiative to fight global warming, saying, "Millions of people could die in this century because of climate change, most of them our poorest global neighbors." Many in the evangelical community still see climate change as junk science and see it getting our eyes off of the prize; that is, sharing the gospel while there is still time.

In 2010 and 2011, immigration became the new evangelical cause. OK, what had I missed? How had this slipped in under the radar screen and become headline news to Bill Hybels, Richard Land, Mathew Staver, leaders at the National Association of Evangelicals and others? Wasn't this owned by the religious left? Or maybe the right had just moved left. I was starting to connect the dots.

Then came the "Circle of Protection" in the spring and summer of 2011. This was a push from both evangelicals and leftists to see that Congress not cut the federal budget for the poor. The National Association of Evangelicals and religious left icon Jim Wallis yoked together, and suddenly the "What Would Jesus Cut?" effort appeared in headlines. Hundreds of outfits – mainly left-of-center – signed on.

But on Nov. 8 the stunner came along and has millions scratching our heads. This time the founders of the NAE back in 1942 just had to feel betrayed! The National Association of Evangelicals came out calling for nuclear disarmament. I can't make stuff like this up! I wish it had happened on April 1 and it was a joke. Say it ain't so! Their position statement falls just short of urging total nuclear disarmament while surmising that reliance on nukes might be idolatrous. Was this position acceptable to all of the 45,000 local churches that make up the NAE? Is this statement (and the other issues I've raised) representing them? None of these edicts represents me!

Here's the answer to that question. Religious left watchdog Mark Tooley writes, "Although most of the NAE's about 100 board members likely remain conservatives, few have openly dissented from the NAE's recent stances on the environment, enhanced interrogation, immigration, budget policy, and nukes." This isn't your grandma's evangelicalism. Change happened incrementally, but what I believed had left the building!

Pat Robertson on 'Black and Mac'

Pat Robertson isn't a mac and cheese guy

''Sorry kids but it ain't even black. In the US it was brought out first at a Presidential Diner in 1802 by Jefferson. It was served prior to that in England. as Macaroni Pie (original meaning of pie) probably it came to the White House by way of Jefferson's culinary advenurism where he brought the first pasta machine to America. If it became a "cuisine of poverty" this would have to move it to the 20th century and the availability of inexpensive dried manufactured pasta by Italian Immigrants. Kraft, the latecomer, dates their product to 1937. Cuisines of Poverty are driven by poverty and what is available cheaply. I'd suggest studying Welsh rarebit in England, Indian Pudding in Colonial America (if you didn't grow up with it the reaction is usually horror) Jello Dinner Salads in the Midwest and the classic "Gravies" among Italian Immigrants and their children. Remember, tastes change. I grew up eating various forms of offal and lamb which were cheap 50 years ago. Order them today and prepare for sticker shock. Lobster was, in the 20th century, fed to prisoners in Maine and even obtaining mutton chops is simply impossible today (to my regret). There is a lot of excellent food that the black community can lay claim to where the recipes come under the "Cuisine of Poverty" mantle but Mac and Cheese isn't one of them. (FYI I suggest frying chicken with a mix of Crisco and leftover Bacon Fat. Don't tell your cardiologist).''

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was asked about her favorite thing to eat at Thanksgiving in a recent interview with Kristi Watts of “The 700 Club.”

"It's mac and cheese," Rice answered.

"Sister, that is my dish, that is the one thing I can rock!" Watts said in agreement.

Though Rice’s answer wasn’t all that interesting, Pat Robertson, co-host of “The 700 Club,” thought it was downright confusing.

"What is this mac and cheese? Is that a black thing?" Robertson asked Watts on Wednesday’s show.

"It is a black thing, Pat. Listen, and you guys, other people, the world needs to get on board with macaroni and cheese," Watts said. "Seriously, I just … OK, Christmas and Thanksgiving, we have to have macaroni and cheese and it trips me out that you don't."

The pair chuckled as Robertson admitted, "I really don't, I don't, and I have never.”

Ann Coulter: Liberal Game Player

Many conservatives were shocked by Ann Coulter's recent endorsement of Mitt Romney's presidential candidacy, but her support for Romney extends back at least five years. While this author enjoys her books and her scathing critiques of liberalism, Coulter's views on both the 2008 and 2012 presidential race reveal a blind spot that raises serious questions about her commitment to conservatism.

It has now become obvious that Coulter is oblivious regarding Mitt Romney's long record of support for liberal causes. Indeed, she has spent much time and effort attempting to sanitize his record in various writings and media appearances. Both in 2008 and in 2012, Coulter has repeatedly insisted, "Romney should be our nominee because he is manifestly the best candidate."

Strangely, she appears not to be concerned with the long history of how RINO presidential nominees have so disillusioned the conservative GOP base, they almost always lose to the Democratic nominee.

An early indication of Coulter's hero worship of Romney occurred at the March 2007 Conservative Political Action Conference, while backstage conversing with Romney. Unaware she was being videotaped, the audio reveals a person who embarrassingly sounds like a star-struck little girl: "You have great answers on everything. The Reagan position on abortion is brilliant. … No, they don't understand; we hate these liberal atheists. You can't get these sectarian wars going with us. We're all Christians. … You're SO wonderful."

This exchange is revealing not only due to Coulter's idolizing of Romney, but it also demonstrated her ignorance on a number of issues. She's complimenting Romney for comparing his flip-flop on abortion to Reagan's alleged switch on this issue. However, this is disingenuous as the two situations have little in common. Reagan supported a pro-abortion bill in 1967, but later apologized for doing so, saying he was misled on the bill and then wrote an entire book on the sanctity of life while president.

In contrast, Romney spent a career promoting abortion and was the author of a health insurance plan that massively subsidizes abortion. He also appropriated funds for a Planned Parenthood clinic, allowed Planned Parenthood to dominate sex-ed policy in Massachusetts schools, appointed pro-abortion judges, opposed efforts to save Terri Schiavo and advocated certain forms of stem-cell research – and all this occurred after his alleged pro-life "conversion." Nor has Romney ever written or spoken on the evils of abortion as Reagan did.

After the CPAC video went viral, this writer had a number of exchanges with Coulter about Romney that confirmed her hero-worship of Romney had seriously compromised her objectivity. For example, she wrote, "The only issue on which Romney had changed his position was abortion," and on another occasion wrote that "Romney governed as a pro-lifer."

But she had to know both statements were false. Coulter had received a copy of the "Mitt Romney Deception" report produced by Massachusetts' leading pro-family group, MassResistance, documenting at least a dozen flip-flops covering virtually every key issue. Coulter did receive the report, since she responded, "Excellent – Thank you."

This writer then sent her a message about Romney's abortion record, and she responded, "I looked up the claims of the first article that Romney dissed family groups on sex education, and it's completely wrong."

But it was Coulter who was wrong. Romney, during his gubernatorial campaign, announced his support for the Planned Parenthood "comprehensive sex-ed" approach and asgGovernor, never opposed the various radical sex-ed bills proposed by the Planned Parenthood crowd. Nor did Romney ever have a problem with schools passing out condoms, stating that, "If the community feels that condom distribution is a helpful thing, then that community should be able to do that." Incredibly, Romney even personally contributed $10,000 to a radical, anti-abstinence, "have-sex-with-anyone-anytime" group call the AIDs Action Committee.

Coulter then argued in an email message to this writer that Romney was pro-life because he vetoed a bill requiring all private hospitals to provide the abortion pill for rape victims – but what Coulter didn't realize is not only did the legislature notify Romney in advance that his symbolic veto would be overridden, but a few days later, he reversed his position and said ''I think, in my personal view, it's the right thing for hospitals [referring to private hospitals] to provide information and access to emergency contraception to anyone who is a victim of rape." Hardly a profile in courage.

Moreover, after this bill became law, Gov. Romney had the executive power to exempt private Catholic hospitals from complying, but he refused to do so, even though the Catholic Church begged him to do so based on existing religious conscience protection statutes on the books. Romney's action, or lack thereof, led to an unprecedented assault on freedom of religion.

Coulter's favorite ploy during the '08 campaign was to portray candidate Mike Huckabee as the most liberal Republican in the race, apparently to divert attention from Romney's liberal record. But Huckabee's record was clearly more conservative than Romney's record. In a bizarre column titled "There's a Huckabee born every minute," Coulter attacked Huckabee on the evolution issue because he allegedly didn't favor rewriting all science books. But Huckabee's only campaign statement on this issue was his view that public school teachers should be able to discuss different theories without being fired or penalized, a fact Coulter left out.

Thanking God and George Washington

''It used to be common knowledge that America's first national Thanksgiving Day was established by President George Washington in 1789. While a few modern critics might be rankled by, as Washington's proclamation puts it, an official "day of public thanksgiving and prayer," for most Americans the holiday stands as an enduring reminder of Washington's wise vision for American religious freedom.''

Both chambers of Congress requested that Washington establish an official day to thank "Almighty God" for allowing the American people to create a republican "form of government for their safety and happiness."

The vast majority of Americans still believe that was a good decision. In a survey conducted earlier this month, respondents were asked whether the federal government did the right thing when it established Thanksgiving Day as a national holiday. They were told that the government recommended that Americans engage in thanksgiving and prayer to "acknowledge with grateful hearts" the blessings of Almighty God.

Eighty-four percent said the federal government did the right thing. And when told that it was President Washington who was the source of this proclamation, 92% of Americans — 8 percentage points higher — agreed that Washington did the right thing.

This overwhelming support for such a public act of religion might be galling to those activists who have subjected America to over six decades of acrimonious litigation in an attempt to expunge all evidence of religion from public life.

These activists would have us believe that every expression of religious sentiment or reverence for God in the public square is a step on an irreversible path to theocratic control of government by the religious at the expense of the non-religious.

President Washington knew better. His vision for the proper role for religion in public life and for church-state relations was both realistic and balanced.

He recognized that government should not be in the business of building houses of worship or of saving souls. Although he was a longtime leader of his Virginia parish of the Church of England— a state-established church in the old country — he knew that our new nation should never establish a church. The First Amendment, drafted and ratified during Washington's presidency, states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion."
